Collection: Akino Yoshida

Akino Yoshida

Yoshida shapes her work by melting blocks of glass and either blowing air into them or casting them, then building each piece through many further steps — polishing, reheating, and more.

The surface texture and depth of color shift with every touch of the hand. No two pieces are alike, and each reveals a new expression every time it is seen.

"If we can find beauty in the light that fills this world, then surely we can find beauty in our everyday lives, too. I hope people can also feel the charm that glass itself holds."

With these words, Yoshida continues to explore the beauty of light held within glass.

Her vessels shift in impression with the place, the time, and the angle of the light — a quiet presence that makes daily life feel a little richer.
